Biography

Adam Berrey is an Executive-In-Residence (EIR). He works with the firm to evaluate deals, advise portfolio companies, and develop new business concepts.

For 17 years, Adam has been building technology companies from startup through sale and IPO. He’s worked in a wide range of categories from application servers to online video to smart grid.

Beginning his career in 1996, Adam was on the founding team of Allaire, which he helped grow to more than $100 million in revenue, a successful IPO, and $2 billion peak market capitalization.

In 2003 he co-founded boot-strapped startup, Onfolio, which was sold to Microsoft. In the media industry, Adam was on the founding executive team at Brightcove where he led strategy and marketing working with the team to build the company to a market leadership position and more than $20 million in revenue in three and half years. When Brightcove merged with Macromedia, Adam took over global marketing and led the launch of 14 products that put the company on a new growth curve.

When he is not working on his own companies, Adam is committed to helping entrepreneurs in the Boston community. He advises dozens of teams from early-stage startups to public companies, and his blog provides practical information on marketing and business strategy for entrepreneurs.
